After a career in feature film production, in 2007 Anya trained as a photographer at the London College of Printing. Fresh out of college, she was asked to take a portrait of the Queen at Windsor Castle, an opportunity that opened the door to commissions from the UK and international Royal Families and high profile clients around the world.
Her editorial portfolio covers an array of actors, musicians, politicians and sports personalities which have featured across magazines such as HELLO!, Tatler, People Magazine, Ritz Magazine, The Telegraph and YOU.
In 2010 she took part in The Mongol Derby, the longest horse race in the world riding 25 horses 1000km in 8 days across the Mongolian Steppe. She convinced the organisers to break race rules and allow her an extra 3kg for a camera and lens in order to capture the adventure. Her subsequent images have featured in Wonderlust, Racing Post and the Daily Mail and in publicising the Derby, helped make it the prestigious event it is today.
In 2011 the Household Cavalry allowed her to spend a year photographing behind the scenes of Knightsbidge Barracks covering events from the Royal Wedding to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The resulting book ‘Uniquely British’ A Year in the Life of the Household Cavalry’ was published in aid of veterans, families of casualties and the horses themselves. It sold over 10,000 copies.
Not frightened to ‘rough it’ her work has taken her from the Himba tribe in Namibia, The Wayuu People of Northern Colombia, bush life in the Kenyan Highlands and orphanages in Romania. She has photographed luxury hotels in Africa, the Caribbean and the USA and has covered parties in many of the Europe’s most vibrant cities including Venice, Paris, Geneva, Cannes as well as New York, Miami, Delhi, Marrakech, Sicley and the Greek Islands.
